John LaGue, Psy.D.
As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, I specialize in working with individuals in a safe and therapeutically supportive and interactive environment. The focus of my practice is supporting those struggling with Anxiety Disorders, Behavioral Disorders, Mood Disorders and the comorbidity associated with Addiction Disorders (as an example, alcoholism and depression, etc.).
The intervention approach involves a process of comprehending and modifying emotional perceptions and behavioral patterns in such a manner as to promote the assistance in understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically-based distress or dysfunction and to promote personal development and a sense of subjective well-being. This is accomplished by the maladaptive thoughts and associated behaviors being challenged, refocused and reframed through the exploration of emotions and existing coping patterns, thus providing the framework required for the restructuring of problem-solving techniques that support symptom management and mitigation.
